Good Flash

As with one of your previous reviewers, I think this is a well-done flash. And though I can see the humor, some of the anti-American sentiment does bother me. While I won't get into my own views, I will voice that it's rather foolish to stereotype the entire population of a country. It's no better than the common misconception that all communists are bad people; which, I know, is completely untrue.

Regardless of said agitation, this is a very well-done flash. Decent animation, etc. etc. etc.

Good work, mate.

CommunistLock responds:

I apologise if it offended you.

Thanks for the review!

Someday

One of these years DNF will be out... You just wait. :P

Great flash, mate. I actually helped this one make it though the portal, but didn't have time to review it. Happened to stumble across a link to it on 3d Realms' website. Congrats on getting their front page and congrats on the great job of all of the obvious losers who get pissed off at this! :)

Also want to let you know that I quite enjoyed the Commander Keen Ten Years On parody. Great work on that one.

TmsT responds:

Thanks! Stay tuned for the "Commander Keen" MOVIE that I'm making with the aid of Commander Keen fans around the world in 2005. If you'd like to join in and add your voice, check out the "Public Commander Keen Forums" (Google it, I can't type links here).

Hehehe

This was hilarious... With the exception of a few minor grammar mistakes that really irked me (I'm a grammar Nazi), it was a great Flash.

To DarkGoth: Sentimental- Affectedly or extravagantly emotional.

I believe the word you were searching for, my perpetually depressed one, is cynical.

Anywho, great flash, Coffee.

CoffeeClock responds:

Thank you my 2 headed 2 horned good man.

Nice

Not bad. Decent animation, decent drawing. Good quality. Definitely something for the whole family. Good work, mate.

Solution:

Here's a simple solution to your problem with Clock Crew movies: Don't watch them. If you don't like them, don't watch them. No one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to put yourself through what obviously must be no less than hellish torture for you.

DarkLabStudios responds:

The thing is, I don't watch em. But when I watch the new movies coming out of the portal that are of good quality get blammed out, and then those pointless clock movies that we all know too well being kept, it starts to get annoying.

Open to Interperetation

This just became my new number one favorite. This piece (I say piece, because this is pure art) is the deepest, most emotionally striking flash on NGs. It's apparent that you've put lots of thought and time into this. I love that you seem to have left the meanings of each scene/sequence up to the individual interperetation of the viewer. It makes the movie that much more personal and meaningful. The most impactful scene, for me, was the blindfolded violinist. To me, she represents true love; blind love. She represents the beauty and passion of true love, while also illustrating the frailty of it. I actually watched this one three times, taking notes on my own interperetation of this movie. I actually shed a tear over this... It brought back some good memories. Great work, mate. Absolutely worthy of the front page.

AloneInTheDark responds:

Thank you alot. Reviews like this mean alot to me. Take care

Sitting in a room full of Christians

I love you guys. I've got family over, and they're a bunch of Jesus freaks. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Christianity, but I can't stand it when people believe that the answer to everything is God... I turned up the volume, they heard, came in the room, saw the video, and stared, mouths gaping. I laughed my ass off. Good work.

neonfox3 responds:

Thank You! yet i too am christian

Douglas Adams?

Most of the names were very reminiscent of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. The general plot of the story also reminded me, slightly, of the great series of books by Douglas Adams. With the exception of subpar graphics and rather annoying sound quality, this was a good flash. Funny as hell. I particularly liked the old man's head. He didn't care about anything other than when he was going to get his next smoke.. Rock on old man's head.. Rock on.

Slickernaut responds:

The sound quality is not pristine for size purposes. In case you are not familiar with uploading flash to Newgrounds, they heavily encourage you to optimize your files.

I find it interesting being told that my creations remind people of other works.. Because most of these I have neither read or viewed.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! The crazy man's head is based on a real person.. Some of the things he says, like the pumpkin seeds bit in the other Fogmarl are things he's really said.

Cool

I'm excited to see this. What kind of timeframe are we looking at for the release of the first episode?

PureCarnage responds:

Always keep in mind, I work a full-time job as this is my hobbie. So after work takes the 10-12 hours it wants, I can usually throw 3-4 (sometimes more but have a familly too)

However, I'm thinking within a month if things go well, going to try to rally sponsorship to create some money=time buffers. As it can free me from all paid side projects too.

Hmmmm

Not *horrible*. I would have preferred to hear Flea playing over hearing you try and imitate his bass sound. Also, you should have included that Anthony Kiedis taught Flea how to play bass when they were in their mid-teens, back when the band was first getting started. How long have you been playing bass? 16 years myself.

b-c-e-w responds:

I've been playing bass for almost 3 months now, but i also practice about 3 to 4 hours a day and I played the upright bass before I got my electric.
